FLOCERT reports strong 2023 performance

16.07.2024

FLOCERT released its Annual Report for 2023 today, outlining the company’s ongoing efforts to provide assurance services to its around 6,000 customers. 2023 was an excellent success for FLOCERT, as the company marked its 20th anniversary and achieved impressive performance milestones.

“In 2023, as the global certification body for Fairtrade, FLOCERT conducted 3,409 Fairtrade audits. We certified the EDGE standard for 59 companies, assessing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) practices for their over 52,000 employees. Additionally, we assisted a range of companies in validating their customised sustainability claims. These activities collectively generated sales of EUR 20m and an EBT of EUR 0.6m,” stated Katharina Wagner, Managing Director of FLOCERT, reflecting on the achievements of 2023.

Strategic decisions played a crucial role in reaching these milestones. FLOCERT introduced an advanced toolbox that integrates the latest technology with an updated auditing methodology to verify Fairtrade trader compliance. This innovative approach enables FLOCERT to maintain efficiency while upholding its high standards of quality and credibility. This combination has helped the company to adjust to global changes and meet new market demands in 2023.

In 2024, FLOCERT is committed to expanding its service portfolio to help its customers address challenges such as supply chain disruptions, new legislation, and growing concerns about greenwashing. FLOCERT will remain dedicated to supporting organisations and companies in their journey towards fairer global trade and, in its wholehearted support of the Fairtrade mission, will continue to monitor that over two million workers and farmers in Fairtrade supply chains receive fair payment and the Fairtrade Premium.
